Official Robusto comfirmed!

As most of you know by now I’ve had a pretty fucking good week :D

For those of you that don’t know yet, here is my super brag!

Im officially moving up to 100NL 6max but I’ll be 2-tabling at first, and adding in tables as I get a feel of these stakes.

It’s also very nice to have your robusto get comfirmed by PokerTableRatings (move your mouse over the little crown icon in the upper left):

Comeback King: This guy is a true Comeback King, almost flat broke and now he’s rolling in cash!

Still going steady..

As you can see I’m still winning… Funny thing about that graph is my red line being negative… that is SO not me :p

This session overall I played 26/22 with a 9.7 3bet% and I cbet the flop only 66% of the time, which is kind of weird cause in general I cbet 75-85% of the time.

ahhh variance… gotta love it.

oh only 9k FPP to go for playstation 3! woohoo

Im gonna try & post some hands of my sessions next time..

As for now, I wish you all as much luck as ive had last few days xD

Back up at 50NL

Obviously ran sorta well but I also played very well.

I feel confident that I’ll be at 100NL in less than a month or two if I don’t run horribly bad.

On a side note, ive been collecting FPPs for the playstation 3 and I only need 11k FPP now which will take me a month or less (I’m still platinum star).

Holdem Manager trial finished so I’ve been using an old PT3 version with a sorta basic HUD…

I’m gonna try and get a HM license soon, I don’t know why PS doesnt let me withdraw money to my neteller account cause I was able to do so like 1 year ago…

short 25NL session

I ran pretty good as you can see:

I also made a big laydown against a 19/13/2AF 2% 3Bet (~70 hands):

I just couldnt see what I could beat except for maybe JT or an slowplayed AND overplayed AA/KK on turn.

This is the widest range I could come up with:
Board: Th Jd Qs 5h

Hand 0:     43.495%      43.50%     00.00%                555             0.00   { QcJc }
Hand 1:     56.505%      56.50%     00.00%                721             0.00   { AA, QQ-TT, AKs, AhQh, KhQh, JTs, AcKd, AcKh, AcKs, AdKh, AdKs, AhKs, JTo }

sure I’m getting the odds now, but he is very likely to shove the river, so I just folded it.

familiar feeling… And facing a dillema.

Looks like I have to move down to 25NL again..

My leaks are all postflop leaks, and I have been fixing a lot of them lately, but not enough to be a winner at 50NL playing the style that I’m playing at the moment (28/24/8%3bet high aggression as always :D )

I’m playing this loose obviously because I think it is +EV if you play well postflop in those marginal spots, and eventhough I know I’m not playing that well postflop, this feels like the best way to get my game to a higher level.

But lately I’ve been in need of money, just a little bit like 40$ a week. But even that is hard to maintain when youre playing 25NL and trying to keep your bankroll growing.

So this is where my dilemma is: should I keep trying to improve my postflop game by playing those marginal spots, or should I tighten up and have a guaranteed positive winrate at 50NL and possibly even 100NL?

I think I’m going to go with the latter for now, eventhough it will be a little bit boring, atleast Ill have some money.  I don’t feel like working in weekends in some shitty student job!

So this is it for now, I’ll keep updates on my progress. I’ll probably be back at 50NL this week if I don’t run insanely bad.

I suck at HU.

Yesterday I decided to play a lil HU since its been so long, and I got crushed by the fish running like god.

I was so tilted I kept playing and lost even more, and before I knew it I had lost half my roll!

Anyway, no biggie, I learned my lesson (again). No more HU for me at the moment :p

Today I played a lil 6max and made back 2 buyins being almost underrolled for 50NL,

and then I analyzed all the big hands from yesterday and Ive identified many leaks in my game,

the biggest one being valuebetting TOO thin.

I’m so obsessed with not missing value, that I valuebet too thin and too big on the river which is costing me a lot of money, especially against passive fish that dont raise 2pair & such.

Also I need to really watch out with my check/raising on the flop, cause vs some opponents it can be very spewy.

Anyways, I’m feeling fresh again so I’ll be grinding at the tables playing better than before & hopefully running better too!

New Post, New Goals

First of all i guess I have to apologize for not keeping by blog up to date for so long…

I’m just lazy, what can i say? :p

Anyway, I decided to stop the challenge a long time ago because I feel that it is not +EV to set my goals on a monetary target.

I got a new challenge now, and that is to have a winrate of 4PTBB or 8bb/100 at 50NL before moving up.

I hope I don’t have to move down again though, cause I just cashed out 300$ and lost 4 buyins today so my roll is at ~1150$ (I move down if I hit 750).

I’m on my mothers laptop right now, so can’t post my graphs but I will as soon as I get back on my laptop;

All I can say for now is that I’ve been playing a much looser style and thinking about the game in a whole new way which should improve my winrate a lot. I’ve also been doing a lot of sweating with skype/teamviewer (or mikogo) and that has improved my game a lot too.

I’ll try and post HHs and graphs/stats in the future but I can’t promis anything :p

g2g now, gl at the tables!

Movin’ Up

After not playing whole weekend, I finally put another session in today and took a shot at 50NL with my 956$ BR.

It was a swingy session for sure, first I lost 11$ but that turned around quickly and before I know I am up 2 buy-ins, but then I start losing up to 5 BI’s!

No problem, I’m still playing good, and I start winnig again,  all the way up to 1116$

Climbing the chip-mountain is though, you need to have a lot of heart, courage and skill!

1116/15.000 ft.

Getting back on track!

It looks like I’m getting back on track, the last 2-3 days of playing 10c/25c I’ve made 278$ playing solid TAG poker.

What has really helped me is really focusing on the playing styles.

Is this guy loose-passive or more loose-agressive ? Is this player capable of bluffing 3 streets with a missed draw ? Is he capable of playing a draw this way ? Is he capable of double barreling a blank with air ?

stuff like this have really helped me a lot in situations where I used to call thinking: “well he either has a bluff or 2pair+, so I call”.

And I was right, they DID have 2pair+ or that unlikely straight or turned set. Problem was that I was not thinking about their bluffing frequenties. For a lot of players, eventhough what they represent might be very strong, it can still be way more likely that they have it than that they are bluffing.

Atleast at these limits.

So I’m getting closer to my 15.000 goal, taking one step at a time…

888,36/15.000$

Doing things backwards.

Not going as I expected AT ALL.

I’m back at 25NL due to my bankroll management, after having been over that limit for the last 5 months.

I don’t know where it went wrong but apperantly it has beeing going downhill for me for the last 45K hands or so.

I think I’m just playing way too loose and I am not a good enough postflop player yet, eventhough I often think I am.

So now I am just trying to relearn everything from the beginning and still struggling with my biggest leak which is being over-agressive (this costs me a lot vs callingstations, spewtards and nits).

I have taken a starting hand chart from the “Real Life Micro No-Limit grinder” series from deuces cracked and will be trying to finally get back to winning again by playing a pretty ABC poker style combined with stealing limped pots and cbetting.
I will be 2-4 tabling cause I still can’t handle more than that and it will only be 6max for now.

Heres my graph (this does not include my first 4-5 months of play):

BANKROLL: 610$
