So i moved $2000 to ultimate to clear and in 2 sessions ive swung down 9 whole buyins..??
My first session i was down 2.5 buyins and today im down 6.5…
Ive got NO action on any hands, and ive been getting push off absolutly everything, every shove or big bet i call im beat… a combonation of a few spewy plays but nothing to justify losing that much in 2 sessions..
Gona move down to 50NL and see how i do..
Just finished clearing the bonus at redstar. Deposited $500 on 3rd of february and started playing a combo of 50NL and 20NL just to get the roll on redstar up a wee bit. End balance is $2554 with over $200 in rakeback to come thru. Total rakeback was approx $250 so $2554 minus $250 and $500 and $500 deposit means i made a profit of approx $1300 in just over 1 1/2 months. Which isnt too bad i dont think.. any comments on this? Febuary i played maybe 10 hours a week but so far in march i bumped that up to around 20.
I ended up playing 6 tables of 100NL and some 50NL thrown in when i couldnt find any more fishy 100NL games. Was doing 6 tables the whole time, occasionally 7 when i felt like it. While still relativly inexperienced with 100NL ive done around 10000 hands probly and i feel im getting a good feel for it. Had a decent heater i suppose so that always helps when moving up, not scared of the money at 100NL at all.
So the plan next is to move to ultimatebet and grind out the $1100 bonus. Then possibly make my first decent sized withdrawl (will probly take out the bonus) and live nicely for a while.
Bankroll is now approx $4200 so im rolled for 200NL but no where near ready for it yet i dont think. Havent taken any shots yet but want to be able to beat 100NL solidly before i move up. maybe put in around 40k more hands? not sure, will see how my form is and if im still running hot..
Ok so ive been running quite well lately, and my heater continues, im up around $400-$500 in the last week. Ive been playing 50NL and killing it, and 100NL and doing alright. Ive noticed that the 3betting is alot more frequent and im trying to learn to deal with this. But aside from that, everyone seems more agressive and willing to take alot more stabs at pots to win them. So ive found a few tricky plans and strategic check behinds with TPTK type hands on non-threating pots and been working as everyone loves to fire pot to try and take it down so i call and snatch it up easy. Ive got around $200 left of my bonus in redstar and my roll on red star is…. $1648… wow more than i expected, i must be up over $500 for the week then. As soon as ive completed the bonus its off to ultimate bet to get sum rakeback and solidify my game at 100NL there. Or maybe ill do a few cheeky sites before in search of a new ipod? we shall see.
Anyway, the good run continues, i cant remember the last week i was down a significant amount, its been all heaters and break evens the last month or so, lets hope it continues!
What’s up? new to the whole blog dealie but i figured i good place to start could be a wee bit of background on yours truly?
4th year student at Auckland University, New Zealand, studying Civil Engineering. Part time poker player who avoids real jobs at any cost. My theory is you only live once and i want to have a blast while im young so once i met a mate who played poker to pay his rent and that i decided that would be tops. First deposited $50 at stars in november 2007, lost it in a week. Decided i was going to actually learn and improve and make money of this whole poker deal so redeposited $50 and started grinding out 0.02/0.05 on stars. Cut a long story shortish, ive been playing on and off, not thaaat much only a few 1000 hands a month and only cashed out here and there, have gotten into it a lot more in the past few months and have been doing well. My bankroll stands at approx $2900 and im clearing a bonus and getting rakeback on redstar.
My goal in poker this year is to successfully grind out 100NL and use that to pay for rent and things that i want. Now that im rolled for 100NL i will slowly move up until i feel i can beat the games and go from there.
Apart from poker im a drum & bass head with a wee bit of dubstep thrown in. I collect records like a fiend and mix like a mad man. To say its an addiction/obsession is an understatement. So poker is going to fund my lifestyle basicly. Im also into cars and have built mine myself from the ground up, born and raised westie fo sho.
Anyway thats enuf about that, will try and update this weekly or whenever i feel like it. On a heater at the mo so gona go grind sum $$$
